DURHAM GARMENT FACTORY

Located in downtown Durham, North Carolina, the Durham Garment Factory acts as a space for local commerce and community engagement. The building is seperated into three forms, that come together to create a building containing manufacturing, storage, offices, classrooms and retail space. The exterior features various viewing windows into the production and retail space, giving a true, straight to consumer connection, with the process going into local manufacturing on display. On the inside, the offices, retail and classroom spaces continue this connection, as they overlook the factory floor, offering insight to students, while allowing staff to monitor production. The space also features a hidden courtyard that can be enjoyed by staff and locals, as well as a rooftop access.
